Medicines for Psychosis powerless against low intellect
|
Studies conducted by British scientists showed that the two most popular drugs used against Psychosis does not have the proper actions on people with low intelligence.
The experiment, which was attended by 86 adults with a low IQ, conducted in England, Wales and Australia showed that the use of placebo (placebo - physiologically inert substance used as medicine, a positive therapeutic effect of which is related to the patient's subconscious psychological expectation), it was equally, and perhaps more effective than the use of Risperdal and Haldol - two of the most popular drugs used in schizophrenia and other behavioral variances.
These drugs were used in recent years as a means sleeping with aggressive behaviour, as well as given to children suffering attention deficit.
Researchers found that after one month of treatment, 79% of participants in the experiment who took pills containing no active substance (proper medication) showed reduction of aggressive behaviour, while 65% took medication antipsihopaticheskogo actions showed the same reduction of aggression.
Dr. Peter J. Tyrer, Professor of Psychiatry, Imperial College London, who led the study, believes that may have influenced the results of the factor that the test was given attention, which they generally try to attract aggressive behavior, and that they need a much greater degree than people with a normal level of intelligence.
